Anthony Albertazzi Interviewed by Andrew Moore of the Bend Bulletin.
6/6/2010

Anthony Albertazzi was recently interviewed by reporter Andrew Moore of the Bend Bulletin for an article titled “In debt? Don’t be shocked by garnished bank accounts.” The article focused on a real problem for many Central Oregon residents. It also explains what a bank levy is, how they work and why creditors would use them. The interview also covered things that can be done to defend yourself. Mr. Albertazzi had some good points on how a debtor can challenge a garnishment and what types of funds are exempt. If you are dealing with a garnishment and need further advice or assistance, you can contact Mr. Albertazzi at the Albertazzi Law Firm right here in Bend.

Michael Seidel at the 2010 Oregon Criminal Defense Laywers Association DUII Conference.
5/14/2010

Michael Seidel has spoken at numerous legal conferences, including the 2010 Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association DUII Conference. This year Mr. Seidel presented a seminar about pretrial motions to suppress evidence in DUII cases. Mr. Seidel’s presentation was well received and is being used by attorneys all over the State in criminal cases. Attached is a thank-you note from an attorney who used Mr. Seidel’s motions for obtaining a good result in a trial in Portland, Oregon.

“Dear Mike,
I wanted to thank you for the presentation at the DUII Conference in Eugene, in general, and specifically for the “One size fits all” theme for DRE and arresting officers “empirical theory” in conducting FSTs’. My defendant was a developmentally disabled, 35 yr. old with a serious speech impediment, various musculo-skeletal problems and chronic pain, who tends to get ataxia and vertigo when under stress. PDSC quickly allowed me to hire Dr. Loren Mallory, Oregon City, on their dime. I used the the Greek myth of Procrustes, a highwayman with a one size fits all bed ( the “Procrustean bed”) where he butchers people to fit the bed, as my main theme. It took the jury an hour and a half to review the States evidence and return a Not Guilty. Mallory was fabulous. The suppression materials are all in place but this Court discussed them, recognized the contradictions in the case law. Anyway, thanks. You make the people practicing around you better.

– Jesse Coggins”
